Sri Lankan Prime Minister to undertake official visit to Maldives
Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Ranil Wickremesinge will arrive in Maldives for an official visit on September 2, 2019.
The visit is on an invitation from President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
Prime Minister Wickremesinghe will be accompanied by his spouse, Professor Maithree Wickremasinghe, and a delegation of officials including four cabinet ministers.
During the visit, President Solih and Prime Minister Wickremesinghe are set to review the existing bilateral ties between the two countries and explore new areas for cooperation, including global matters of mutual importance.
The Sri Lankan PM will also be chairing the Indian Ocean Conference 2019, scheduled to take place from 3-4 September at Paradise Island Resort.
The Indian Ocean Conference is organized by India Foundation in association with the government of Maldives and the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Singapore.
