Safari operators advised to obtain permit before resuming services
National Boating Association of Maldives (NBAM) has instructed safari operators to obtain the necessary permits from the Tourism Ministry before resuming operation.
The Maldives closed its borders to tourists on March 27 as a precautionary measure against COVID-19. As a result, tourism facilities including resorts, guesthouses and liveaboards were closed.
While the Maldives has now reopened its borders to tourists, NBAM said a special permit issued for safaris by the Tourism Ministry is required to begin operation. MIRA registration, Health and Safety Plan, Declaration Form and Operating License must be submitted to obtain the permit.
The association warned against providing any service to any tourists prior to obtaining the permit.
