Deputy speaker of the parliament Hon. Ahmed Nazim is still refusing to surrender to police unless and until a court arrest warrant is brought. The police apparently so far has failed to get such a warrant.

A parliamentary rule requires to inform the speaker of the parliament in advance before arrest of any Member of Parliament. Speaker was not informed of the arrest of Hon. Qasim and Hon.Yaamin as required by the rules of the parliament. This is one of the grounds that lawyers are challenging in the court.
