Lawyers for Mr. Qasim Ibrahim and Mr. Abdulla Yaamin Abul Gayyoom are challenging the detention and arrest of the two in the court. They are been represented by the former Attorney General Ms. Aazima Shukoor. The lawyers are alleging that the arrest and detention is illegal, because their rights were not read to them at the time of the arrest as required by the constitution, also the lawyers are claiming that there is not a shred of evidence also the lawyers are claiming that the police has failed to produce a shred of evidence supporting the arrest and detention.
